 Epidaurus is the birthplace of Apollo’s son Asclepius the healer, Epidaurus was known for its sanctuary situated about 8 km from the town, as well as its theater, which is once again in use today. The ancient theatre of Epidaurus was designed by Polykleitos the Younger in the 4th century BC. The original 34 rows were extended in Roman times by another 21 rows. As is usual for Greek theatres, the view on a lush landscape behind the skênê is an integral part of the theatre itself and is not to be obscured. It seats up to 14,000 people. The theatre is admired for its exceptional acoustics, which permit almost perfect intelligibility of unamplified spoken words from theproscenium, regardless of their seating

Olympia is a sanctuary of ancient Greece in Peloponnese, is known for having been the site of the Olympic Games in classical times. The Olympic Games were held every four years throughout Classical Antiquity, from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD.The first Olympic Games were in honor of Zeus. The Temple of Zeus was built in the middle of the 5th century BC. Around 300 BC the largest building on the site, the Leonidaion, was constructed to house important visitors.

One such area is located at the island of Elafonisi on the coast of southwestern Crete. Crete has a rich mythology mostly connected with the ancient Greek Gods but also connected with the Minoan civilization. The first human settlement in Crete dates before 130,000 years ago, during the Paleolithic age. Crete was the centre of Europe’s first advanced civilisation, the Minoan (c. 2700–1420 BC).

Meteora, is one of the most spectacular and unique rock formations in the world. Immense monolithic pillars and hills like huge rounded boulders dominate the local area. It is also associated with one of the largest and most precipitously built complexes of Orthodox monasteries in Greece. The six monasteries are built on natural sandstone rock pillars, at the northwestern edge of the Plain of Thessaly near the Pineios river and Pindus Mountains, in central Greece. Meteora is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. All of these monasteries are located at Metéora in Greece, and most are perched on high cliffs and now accessible by staircases cut into the rock formations.
